Testimonials

The following letter was received from St. Agnes Parish thanking the Kansas City Urban Rangers for bringing a troop to work with their youth, the “Res Warriors.”

A letter from St. Agnes Parish, on the Pine Ridge Reservation, thanking the Urban Ranger Corps for sending a Work Team of Rangers to train their youths as Urban Rangers: “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for bringing such hope to our young men… From our observation, the boys really shaped up and became productive, and they learned team work, and
how to take orders. I believe the young men who came from Kansas City taught our boys with firmness and respect.”

Ranger Testimonials

“This summer was fun and a new experience for me. Fun because I got to meet new people, do some different activities, and go to places I have not been. It was a new experience because I got to learn more about carpentry, painting, landscaping, and what it means to be an Urban Ranger. Yes, its hard labor, discipline, and it may take you out of your comfort zone, but it will also brighten your horizon. It will make you do things you ordinarily wouldn’t have to do. This is why I personally think that this program has been so successful.”
-Ranger Kalib Gilmore

“The Urban Rangers program has grown and improved each year I have returned. One change from the past is that this year we went to Ironwoods Park over in Leawood, Kansas. At Ironwoods, the other rangers and I rose to the challenge of climbing a 50 foot tower. As each of us went up, we relied on the help of our teammates to keep us safe from falling that same 50 feet to the ground.”-St. Agnes Parishioner, Manderson, SD
